Strategic alliance of two quality leaders In 2023, Hettich Group experienced its most lucrative year yet in its 120-year history. For the first time, the Tuttlingen-based global leader, specializing in centrifuges and incubators for clinical-medical applications across three European locations, significantly surpassed the 100 million euro threshold in revenue. In addition to this outstanding organic growth, the strategic growth trajectory was further propelled by an acquisition. The 100% acquisition of Philipp Kirsch GmbH by the Hettich Group marks a significant milestone for both entities. Based in Willstätt-Sand, Germany the Philipp Kirsch GmbH is a renowned manufacturer of high-quality cooling and freezing solutions for laboratories and healthcare, setting standards in quality and reliability since 1865. "Our similar business philosophy and corporate culture, characterized by a high understanding of quality, long-term thinking and action, as well as the appreciation of our employees and business partners, form the foundation of this strategic partnership," stated Dr. Jochen Kopitzke, who will continue as Managing Director of Philipp Kirsch GmbH. The best of both worlds The synergy effects of this acquisition across the entire value chain are diverse. Given the substantial overlap in target markets between both companies, the focus is on the potential of cross-selling to streamline and expand distribution channels more efficiently. Particularly, Hettich's strong international network, comprising 6 subsidiaries and over 100 established global partners, will create opportunities significantly boosting revenue and outcomes. Founded in 1904 and headquartered in Tuttlingen, Germany, our company boasts a rich and dynamic history. Originating from a small workshop established by master mechanic Andreas Hettich, we have evolved into an internationally renowned entity with a workforce exceeding 500 employees. Today, we continue to operate from our Tuttlingen base under the guiding principle of "Legacy Meets Future," driving innovation and setting new benchmarks in the field of medical technology. Our Milestones 1904 Andreas Hettich GmbH & Co.KG was founded, initially producing surgical instruments and later expanding into centrifuges. 1951 Günter Eberle joins the company. Five years later, he assumes ownership and, as managing partner, significantly enhances the company's performance and competitiveness. 1950-1975 The company sees numerous innovations, securing national and international patents. In 1976, Hettich introduces the first microprocessor-controlled centrifuge, the ROTO MAGNA / K4S. 1978 The Hettich AG is established, laying the foundation for expanding and strengthening its market position in Switzerland. 2003 Expansion into America begins with the founding of Hettich Instruments LP in Boston/Beverly, successfully establishing a presence in the American market. 2005 Following Günter Eberle's tenure, his sons continue to successfully lead the company. 2006 Hettich expands its presence into Asia with the establishment of Hettich Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. in Singapore, focusing on centrifuges and laboratory equipment. 2007 Hettich Sàrl is founded in France, consolidating the company's market position and establishing new distribution channels. 2011 Dépex B.V. and Elbanton B.V., acquired from Hettich in 1988 and 2007 respectively, are merged to form today's Dutch subsidiary, Hettich Benelux B.V. 2015 Klaus-Günter Eberle assumes sole leadership as managing partner. Six years later, his wife Kristina Eberle joins as co-managing partner. 2022 With the founding of PT. Hettich Manufaktur Indonesia in Jakarta, we are enhancing our manufacturing capabilities to support our partners in Southeast Asia. 2024 The first step for further expansion plans is the acquisition of Kirsch Medical, a manufacturer of freezers. Furthermore, Hettich is celebrating its 120th anniversary, marking a legacy of quality and excellence.

Hettich Group enters growth partnership with Bregal Unternehmerkapital Centrifuges are the heart of every medical laboratory; they make a decisive contribution to diagnostics and therapy. The Hettich Group (“Hettich”), based in Tuttlingen, Germany, has been active in this segment for 120 years with technological expertise and entrepreneurial spirit and has achieved a leading international position. The owner family around Klaus-Günter and Kristina Eberle has decided to enter into a partnership with Bregal Unternehmerkapital for the next stages of international growth. Klaus-Günter and Kristina Eberle stated, "We chose Bregal Unternehmerkapital out of several potential partners because they can best support our growth potential through their existing network and understand us as entrepreneurs”. As an entrepreneurial investor with a focus on growth industries and partnerships with family-owned businesses, Bregal Unternehmerkapital will acquire a minority stake as part of a capital increase. It is planned that Bregal Unternehmerkapital will use its global network to support Hettich's further organic and inorganic expansion, particularly in Asia and the USA.
