Hettich benchtop centrifuges stand out for their versatility. Equipped with a wide range of accessories, they can handle nearly all standard applications. They are commonly used in clinical laboratories, food labs, and agricultural settings.
What sets them apart from small centrifuges are their larger capacity, the option to cool or heat samples, and their higher speeds, making them suitable for more demanding laboratory tasks.
During centrifugation, the rotor chamber heats up due to air friction and motor-generated heat. The longer or faster the run, the higher the temperature. Standard laboratory centrifuges have an air cooling system to remove some of this heat.
However, many samples are thermally sensitive and must be processed within a specific temperature range. Refrigerated centrifuges with a coolant circuit and controlled cooling unit maintain these temperatures. Depending on the device, the preferred centrifugation temperature can be set anywhere between -20°C and +40°C, ensuring sample integrity.
The actively heated centrifuge heats up quickly from room temperature to 90°C.
